Celeste Systems Inc., doing business as BalanceGuru (“BalanceGuru,” “we,” “our,” or “us”)

BalanceGuru respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website, our mobile application (the "App"), or participate in a BalanceGuru beta program.

Information We Collect Through the Website

Through our website contact form, we collect only what you voluntarily provide:

Name
Email address
Phone number, if provided
Message content

We may also automatically receive limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and basic server log data for security, maintenance, and website functionality.

Information We Collect Through the App

When you create an account and use the App, we collect:

Account and assessment information: name, email address, age or age-related information, and information you provide during signup, questionnaires, functional assessments, or other assessments within the App. This may include information about your balance, fall history, physical activity, and functional ability.
Movement / landmark data: While you perform guided exercises, the App's camera observes your body movement. Your device processes this in real time into a set of numeric body-position points — a "stick figure" style skeletal representation of joints and posture. We do not record, transmit, or store photographs or video of you. Only this landmark coordinate data is transmitted to and stored on our servers.
Exercise and scoring data: derived from your landmark data, such as balance scores, exercise completion, and progress over time.
Device and technical data: device type, operating system version, app version, and crash/error logs, used for troubleshooting and improving app stability.

Biometric Data Notice

We treat landmark/movement data described above as biometric information, and we handle it accordingly:

Consent: We collect landmark data only after you have agreed to this Privacy Policy and any in-app consent prompt describing camera-based movement tracking.
No sale: We do not sell, lease, trade, or license your landmark or biometric data to any third party.
Limited access: Within BalanceGuru, access to raw landmark data is limited to personnel who need it for engineering, troubleshooting, product development, or operation of the App. Our infrastructure and other service providers may process or store data as necessary to provide their services to us.
Retention: We retain landmark data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and improve BalanceGuru, including improving our exercise-scoring algorithms, unless you request deletion or we determine the data is no longer needed. You may request deletion of your landmark data and account at any time (see "Your Rights and Choices" below).
No video/image capture: As noted above, only numeric landmark points are stored — never camera images or video.

How We Use App and Landmark Data

We use the information described above to:

Provide exercise scoring, feedback, recommendations and progress tracking within the App
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
Improve our exercise-scoring algorithms, exercise content, and the App generally
Support the operation of the beta program, including monitoring beta participant engagement and outcomes
Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about BalanceGuru
Maintain the security and functionality of the website and App

Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, including landmark/biometric data.

We may share information with service providers who help us operate our website, App, or infrastructure (for example, our cloud hosting provider), or when required by law. Our App infrastructure and databases are hosted using third-party cloud infrastructure providers and are configured so that application databases are not directly publicly accessible.

Third-Party Form Provider

We use Jotform to provide and process our website contact form (and, during the beta program, initial support inquiries). Information submitted through these forms may be transmitted to and stored by Jotform and its service providers in accordance with their own terms and privacy practices.

Data Retention

Website contact form submissions are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
App account information and landmark/exercise data are retained as described in the "Biometric Data Notice" section above, unless and until you request deletion.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information submitted through our website and App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your Rights and Choices

You may:

Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information and landmark data by contacting us at the email below
Withdraw from the beta program and stop use of the App at any time
Ask us questions about what data we hold about you and how it is used

We will respond to requests no later than 45 days after receiving a verifiable request, which we may extend once by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, with notice to you.

Cookies and Analytics

We may use limited cookies or similar technologies on our website that are necessary for functionality or security. If we introduce non-essential cookies or analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.

Third-Party Links

Our website and App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties.

Children's Privacy

The App and BalanceGuru beta programs are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information, including landmark data, from anyone under age 18 through the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes affecting App users or beta participants will also be communicated in-app where practicable.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you:

Right to know/access the personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain legal exceptions
Right to correct inaccurate personal information
Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (which may include biometric/landmark data) to what is necessary to provide our Services
Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
